LUKA has grown

Apologies for the lack of news over the past couple of days but LUKA's dad has been pretty busy at work...and has struggled for sleep at night with regular feedings and nappy changes. Vanessa has been on high milk production and LUKA has reaped the rewards. Thanks for all of the wonderful visits and lovely gifts over the past couple of days. LUKA now has plenty of things to play with when he finally decides to stop letting milk rule his life! LUKA's dad is off to the Jungle on Saturday but will be back on Monday. His Abuela will thankfully be helping out while he is away.

LUKA's new Chupón

Today LUKA's dad drove down to the local Farmacia and bought him a chupon. It cost 7 soles and is blue (for boys-its the only one they had left). It has worked wonders as his desperate yelps when he wakes up hungry are quelled by the silicon sensation. It fools him for at least half an hour as he tries in vain to draw some milk from it. Vanessa now has time to collect her thoughts and produce some more milk before he goes back on the teta for more. That is Somos (not Playboy) in the background. LUKA was just catching up on the story about Tikapata school in the sacred valley.

Today LUKA had a visit from Ceci and Mato. Ceci has proposed marriage and has worked out that when she is 36 LUKA will be 18 and that will still give her a couple of child-bearing years. Mato has promised to finish her Childhood development studies and then take full responsibility for teaching LUKA throughout his primary years. LUKA seemed to be in agreement with both proposals.

LUKA has just sent projectile faeces across the room. Unfortunately abuela Pocha was there to receive the brunt of the excretion. He then proceeded to sleep it off in a superhero pose just in time for Alan Nocker's visit.

LUKA - Que felicidad!

Life's pretty good with LUKA around! Here he is having a burp with his mum and dad out in the garden. He's been home now for 24 hours and he is soaking it up. He has already dirtied a pile of nappies and drunk a LOT of milk. I have also included a foto of him having a bit of a snooze in his cot. We had some problems with his Moises (Basket). When we got home it had contracted a dose of woodworm so we had to turf it out. He has gone straight to the big cot!!

Hasta ahora ya el ensució bastante pañales y y tomo un monton de leche. Tambien hay un foto de el roncando en su camita. Teniamos algunas problemas con su moises. Cuando llegamos a la casa encontramos bastante polia entonces ya botamos...el avanzo de frente a su camita!!

Billy comes around to visit LUKA - Talk of starting up a band called the HOAXitos

William Parry was around this afternoon with his sister Kendra and his Mum and Dad. He and LUKA had a bit of a chinwag and seem to be planning something. They are both pictured here having a drink together and also with their HOAX dads in the garden.

LUKA judged most 'Churro' in all of Montesur

Here is the foto that everyone in Clinica Montesur is talking about. Neighboring newborn girls were said to be crying loudly as he left the clinic today. Nurses melted at the sight of him. Killia has a LOT of competition!!!

Todo la gente de la Clinica Montesur estan chismeyando por este foto. Dicen que todo las niñas recien nacidas estaban llorando cuando LUKA se fue a su casa. Tambien dicen que las enfermeras estaban enamoradas. Killia tiene su competencia!!!

Home at last

Finally we pulled into the drive and LUKA is 'in da house' for the first time. He quickly settles into a drink/sleep/shit/cry routine. Here you can see him pictured with his suegra relaxing between drinking and shitting. He was very proud to be dressed up in civilian clothes instead of the Montesur standard PJ's.

Por fin llegamos en la casa. LUKA esta 'in da house' por la primera vez. Al toque esta tranquilo en su rutina de chupar/soñar/kagar/llorar. En una de las fotos el esta con su suegra entre una chupada y una kaka. Estaba bien orgullos en su ropa de la calle en cambio de la ropa aburrida piyamas de Montesur.

Today was the last day in the clinic. I think LUKA has had just about enough...it's time to go home! I must say, however, that he will miss the fantastic treatment from all of the doctors and nurses.... It was great for us as dirty nappies were almost automatically changed.

LUKA has had a cracking night of milk and sleep and is looking a million dollars this morning. Here is the official hospital foto.

What a proud moment for any father. LUKA has been threatening to come up with something good but this is the first real attempt. Testicles were removed (in the foto) by mothers request...so all you get to see is the do-do. Enjoy!!

Happy Birthday to LUKA, Harry and Christian

Today was the birthday of LUKA's father and LUKA's uncle and of course yesterday was LUKA's real birthday. Tonight there were lots of visitors and there was cake and champagne so we sang Happy Birthday for everyone...but quietly because...lets face it...we were in a Hospital!!

Hoy dia celebramos el cumpleaños de Christian (tio de LUKA), Harry (Papa de LUKA) y obviamente ayer fue el dia de nacimiento de LUKA. Entonces cantamos 'Happy Birthday' para todos ....pero con bajo volumen por que no somos conchudos y estabamos en un hospital!!

Pucha!! Thanks so much to everyone who has been sending email and Facebook messages and writing comments on the blog. Just to let you know that everything is fine here in the clinic. Vanessa is recovering well and has been producing gallons of Colostrum and now milk. Last night I had a good 30 minutes on each teta and I feel like superman!!

Pucha! Mil gracias a todo que estan enviando mensajes por email, Facebook y haciendo comentarios en el blog. Todo esta perfecto aca en la clinica. Vanessa esta produciendo bastante colostrum y recien leche. Ayer chupé por una hora (30 minutos cada teta) y me sientes como superman.

Killia arrives to check out her new boyfriend

Armando, Stella and Killia came to visit at 4.30pm. LUKA seemed impressed but although Armando is trying to organise some sort of bounty offer to set up the arranged wedding the jury is still out. I must admit Killia's eyes are pretty alluring. What Armando doesnt realise is that LUKA has already had quite a few offers.

LUKA Latest

LUKA has had a busy day. Lots of visits, 2 kakitas, 1 pichi and a few good solid doses of Colostrum. He is extremely happy with all of the wonderful email messages, Facebook messages and Blog Comments. Thanks to everyone. His Abuelo has just arrive to see him for the first time and he is ecstatic!! So are we!

LUKA Chupando for the first time

What a fantastic moment. LUKA soaking up the milk for the first time. You can hear the squeaking sound of the instinctual mammal sucking action. If you thought he was big when he was born then imagine what he'll be like after a couple of weeks of this colostrum.

First HOAX member to visit LUKA

Adrian Lee from the (in)famous rock group HOAX took the time out to visit LUKA Hildebrand this afternoon. The self proclaimed ugliest member of the band was proud to be photographed with the thumbs up while LUKA ignored him much as HOAX fans did for the first 6 months of his career. He was stopped halfway through attempting a lullaby to put LUKA to sleep as he burst into tears immediately...but soon quietened down on the ample breast of Vanessa (LUKA that is).

Well apart from having an incorrect name for the blog [he arrived 3am on the 19th]...the good news is that LUKA has arrived and is fighting fit...as is his mother!

LUKA Latest

Thanks to all the fantastic comments on the blog. Falta Poco!!...it is now 11pm and we have been here since 9am.
The latest news is that we have to be patient...BUT if we have to wait too long I am going to have to change the blog address(LUKA18Nov)....ayayay.
There has been some confusion over Luka's sex. One tall Aussie claims that Suzanne Vega once sang about a girl...so just so that everyone is clear LUKA is most certainly a boy. Attached is the (unmagnified) ultrasound [ecografia] of certain parts of his body at 5 and a half months. You may also check his profile on the blog.
Lets hope the next post is bigger news.

The Calm before the storm

Well its 7.30pm and we are still in the clinic. All is well.....however there are contractions all over the place so it could be a long night. Vanessa has just had the infamous epidural, not because of the pain but because the doctor is trying to get some control on the contractions and dilation. Here we are ...the calm before the storm...

Super Suegra

Pocha ... La abuela de Luka es un gran apoyo para nosotros. Estaba quedando en la casa acompañando Vanessa durante los dias por las dos semanas pasadas...y en la noche durmio en el cuarto de Luka...y solo ronco poquito..jaja

Pocha, Luka's Grandmother is a great help. She has been staying in the house with Vanessa during the day for the past 2 weeks and at night she has been sleeping in Lukas bedroom...and she only snores a bit!

Gianmarco [Peruvian rock legend] came in to Markham today to speak to the senior students and also to pass on his best wishes to LUKA Hildebrand.
