LUKA is walking

LUKA is becoming a handful as he gets more and more mobile. The house has changed quite a bit putting everything out of LUKA's arms reach.
Here he is in the garden today taking advantage of the Japanese grass cushioning his fall(s).

LUKA is back

Luka had a fantastic two and a half weeks in Australia visiting his Australian family. Here he is with primo Oscar and prima Milly.

 

LUKA's Lunch

Today LUKA was eating lunch...a lot of it. He started with a huge meal of chicken, camote, pumpkin, beetroot and beans. Then he followed that with a big serve of apple and pear and finally sat down with his mum and dad and abuela for a rice biscuit. I wonder why he is more than 9 Kilos now?

Trip to Lunahuana

Wow we had a great trip to Lunahuana with Mum and Dad and Sandra and Naia ...and also my primita Yaomi. Dad had to check a few things out for the trip he was organizing for the P6 kids at Markham. We stayed at the Hotel Regina and we all squeezed into one room. In the morning dad and I went for a walk because apparently I was keeping everyone awake. Here is a picture of us all in Catapalla where Mum bought Dad a bottle of Pisco.

Sorry I haven't been able to write much on the blog lately. I have been too busy playing with my friends at my jardin. Here you can see me with my friend Teo and also with Luciana. That is Geronimo my Columbian friend crying in the video. It has been great fun and I am learning a lot....this video was one of my first days...now I have been there for one month.

Mi primera papilla- My first baby food

Luka a los 5 meses comenzó a comer su primera papilla de fruta, de platano con la leche materna, lo disfrutó mucho. Ahora come papaya, platano y papillas de vegetales. Come muy rápido, una cucharita tras otra. Es un comelón!

LUKA turns 6 months today

Today was the 6 month 'birthday' for LUKA. He was lucky to get a special visit from his primas, Yaomi, Yaref and Yerusa...and also his Abuela Pocha. His Dad brought home a Torta and all sorts of junk food to celebrate. LUKA even got a special gift from Ceci and Karla of his first bottle of Heinz apple (equivalent to baby junk food). Here you can see him ready to blow out the candles.

Here you can see Gianmarco finally getting to meet LUKA in Madre Natura the other day. He seemed surprised (but happy) that LUKA did not inherit the ridiculous moustache from his father.

HOAXitos

The other day it was the HOAX legend Ewan 'Shambles' Parry's Birthday so I went down to the Cricket club to catch up with Will and Juliet. There are plans afoot to get the band together. As soon as Elliot gets his shit together and Nico gets back from India. Juliet reckons she can sing a bit...and apparently Hannah has a great pair of lungs on her...so to speak!

It seems like every time I take out the camera he stops smiling and talking ...but take my word for it he talks as much as his mother already and smiles more than his dad (at least these days that his dad is not sleeping so well).

El momento que estoy pasando con Luka me gustaría compartirlo junto contigo Elizabeth. Nunca me imagine experimentar estos bellos momentos. La alegría que siento, no puedo describirlas con palabras, es un sentimiento muy hermoso, cada vez que siento la voz de Luka, sus gestos y nuevas voces transmitiendo un mensaje de alegría, de pedir su alimento. Es maravillosa la experiencia y me siento muy felíz, cada momento que paso con nuestro nieto.

I would like to share this moment with LUKA also with Elizabeth (LUKA’s other grandmother). I never imagined that I would have such beautiful moments. The happiness I feel I can’t describe in words when I hear LUKA’s voice his gestures and new utterances transmit messages of happiness and (sometimes) demand for more milk. It is a marvelous experience and I feel very happy each moment that passes with OUR grandchild.

Alan and his Mum come and visit LUKA

Alan’s mum came to visit and obviously the first thing she wanted to do was to meet LUKA so he brought her around. She is obviously very good with babies…Alan obviously likes LUKA judging by this foto.

Mike Young comes all the way from China JUST to visit LUKA

Mike Young came to try and convert LUKA from milk to beer. He had very little success as LUKA slept through the lesson (not the first). LUKA was intrigued however with the little piece of white stuff hanging off the bottom of Mike’s chin.

LUKA's Big Brother

Luka’s BIG brother, Yuri came to visit from Jan 21 until Jan 31. They had a great time together travelling to Chosica to stay for a few days and hanging around Larco Mar and watching Flamengo games together. LUKA laughed a lot while he was here…and cried when he left to go back to Brasil.

LUKA gets a visit from his future babysitters

Today LUKA was very excited to have a visit from Tia Jimena, Tia Mele and Tia Ceci. they have all fallen madly in love with LUKA and have offered to babysit WHENEVER we want...for free. WUUJUU

Another beautiful girl comes to visit LUKA

Today LUKA had a visit from Camila from LONDON....wow!!! Camilia is the hijita of Robin and Rosa and she came around to visit LUKA before she went back to London. LUKA was chuffed! here you can see LUKA with his new girlfriend and his abuela....and also Camila and her parents having a drink with LUKA's family.

LUKA's Mothers Birthday

Today LUKA's parents went to a posh sort of organic restaurant to have lunch with Uncle Shambles and Uncle Rugrat and Ceci and Sol...oh and also his mate William. The food is sure to give his mother gases...and hence him...so the old wifes say...although LUKA's dad knows better as the food his mother eats is completely digested and reconstructed (according to the DNA) into his milk so has nothing to do with him getting gases. LUKA's father also knows that farting is very healthy and it seems unfair that LUKA is able to do it and his father seems to get into trouble for the same thing....It is hard to understand these things as a kid!!
Anyway the big event was Vanessa's birthday and everyone sang along and she blew out the candles....later on that evening LUKA was too tired to participate in more singing in front of the NEW waterfall in the garden with his Grandparents, Tia Viviana and Tia Helena.... Vanessa also looked tired by then....

LUKA esta enamorado con Charito

Vanessa, la mama de LUKA esta 'full time' produciendo leche. LUKA esta tomando casi 5 oncas cada 2 horas en el dia y tiene casi 6kg y 60cm de largo. PUCHA!!!
Bueno, cuando Vanessa regresare a su Chamba con ANIA tiene que tener alguien en la casa para cuidar a LUKA...y en este momento Charito esta...y ella esta trabajando muy bien. Ella es una enfermera y sabe mucho de los bebes. Lo mejor es que LUKA esta feliz con ella....

LUKA's first Christmas

LUKA gets a visit from Tio Gallegon

Today LUKA had a visit from his Uncle Gallegon. He came all the way from San Francisco on Yarinacocha in Pucallpa where he has been working on a fantastic recycling project (Check out the blog http://sanfranciscosaludable.wordpress.com/). He is now going back to Swarthmore University in the USA.

A day in the life of LUKA at 6 weeks

LUKA had a big day yesterday. The pediatrician was pretty happy with him crossing the 5kg mark and the fact that he is approaching 60cm. He has been sleeping for both Australia and Peru during the day and doing his exercises before bath time.

Yesterday LUKA went with his mum and dad to visit Dr Levano and thank him very much for all his hard work on getting his mum prepared for the birth and obviously delivering him.

LUKA goes to the BIOFERIA

Today LUKA went to the bioferia in Parque reducto and although he supports GM foods the lovely people in the stalls sold his mum lots of fresh vegetables. He ran into his friends Juliet and Elliot and also made friends with Mayu from Ollantytambo. When he returned for some milk at home he was pretty tired so he nodded off for a couple of hours.

Hoy día LUKA fue con sus papás a la bioféria en parque reducto a comprar vegetales. Encontró sus amigos Elliot y Juliet y calló completamente enamorado con Mayu de Ollantaytambo. Regreso a la casa, tomó leche y calló soñando por un par de horas.
